@op I’m gonn go delete my Stevie wonder collection and throw away all my Al Green vinyls
I’m sorry I offended you
U totally right, imma stop listening to Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye right now.
I'm also starting a petition for streaming services to scan each users DNA, so every ''race'' is only allowed access to the appropriate music.

I mean it’s all good bro but how u feel when they say brother and all that like do u feel included I want you perspective
What diffrent about it
Because soul music is something you can feel in your soul. A lot of it isn’t as tied to the racial struggle in the lyrics as much as a lot of rap is. I think it’s weirder to live out ghetto fantasy through rap than simply enjoy beautiful music. Also, even racially charged soul like strange fruit is presented in a way that negates the fantasy aspect of living through black music that exists today. Like I listen to strange fruit and think about how f***ed up our world is and it reminds me of my privilege. Vs sometimes when I listen to certain rap I don’t even feel like listening cause I know it’s not geared towards me and I can’t understand it as someone from the suburbs. I think it’s both beautiful and a real problem cause like I’ll listen to navy blue and at the same time be like damn he presented his struggle perfectly and so beautifully but this is for black brothers and sisters and not me
Nigga wachats your purpose? And yeah I’m mad b**** cause that s*** don’t feel right to me feel patronizing to me fym
Why is it patronizing?? It’s simply beautiful music. A lot of it has nothing to do with racial struggle
Thread giving me “whites people should feel bad for existing” vibes like b**** I ain’t wanna be here either
If I wanna troll I’d go to Twitter they dumb as hell lol this where I speak my true facts cause y’all not gonna trip
So a bunch of white kids listening to dudes like NBA YoungBoy doesn't bother u but a old white guy listening to soul that he probably grew up listening to is problematic?
Beyond that why would a white guy listening to soul trigger u? It's just good music lmao
Like this older white man listening to soul music and s*** and I was in my head like this ain’t for u bro??? I know it’s fire but damn. When they say brother they not talking about u u don’t know nothing about that. Like I wasn’t hot but u was like wtf? Anyway I get it know with that race talk in music. What y’all think
Nigga rap music ain’t for ya b****ass but you still on here shut up and get off his d***
I mean it’s all good bro but how u feel when they say brother and all that like do u feel included I want you perspective
I mean if a chick is singing about a guy I can still like the music
Sure it’s not exactly relatable but that doesn’t matter
It’s just good music
Neither is an issue
I think the latter can be an issue when it turns into like chiraqology and complete ignorance of the issues at play, like kids listening to the music saying the n word pretending to gun each other down with absolutely no understanding of the deeper struggle at play
Nigga rap music ain’t for ya b****ass but you still on here shut up and get off his d***
Wtf u mean by this bro
