Not that I think graphics are all to gaming but a remake could really update gameplay and graphics. That isnt to say the graphics were bad but the game is 25 years old. At a certain point you need to be for real. Same way Halo , Gears of War, MGS and so many other games looked amazing at their time. Doesnt change that X in its current state isnt unplayable but the way they are remaking games anyway allows it to reach a larger audience

Delta doesnt look the same as MGS3 that is pure delusion. Even if I have kind of held off on buying it cause it feels like a spit in Kojima face even if I crave the nostalgia and to see if the graphical update is cool.

Remakes of great games of the past sometimes helps devs see what worked well. What audiences what changes they make that do or dont work often used to survey for future games

Because as much as I think some are over doing remakes or remasters its inevitable. Its market research. Eventually they run out of things to remake but they have used all the data from the remakes and how best to use the engine to create the best new games. That will hopefully also stand the test of time

Graphics wise maybe especially since the remaster handled that very poorly but gameplay wise the game is pretty much perfect imo not much more you can do with it

I dont think any game from 25 years ago is pretty much perfect. Then you add in game preservation that for many console gamers there is no readily easy way to play them what does a remake hurt ? Allows more to be able to play on current hardware, improves graphics and makes gameplay tweaks . I mean a lot of the turn based style is the same regardless. That applies to all of the remakes.

I think there are some where major gameplay changes or what could be viewed as advancements to some could take away some of the soul of the franchise. But that comes down to the designers updating it or remaking it and trust in them

I think some gamers truly think some games are perfect or that many more deserve 10/10 than truly do. When if anything 10/10 doesnt mean perfect so much as it advances the genres in ways that will be known forever.

Every game has cons to me even my favorite games of all time.

And yeah idk man i dont see how an old game cant have close to perfect gameplay ? I think ff10 has the best turn based combat in the series and best character customization as well with the free grid from remaster too , its genuinely amazing and i dont think much more could be done to make it better
