There is no reason to remake X

Lol ya’ll boys gotta stop saying this just because you can tolerate dusty ass s***

S*** is 25 years old. Knock it off lol 100% There are reasons to modernize it.

I tried to play FFX as my first FF game and I just couldn't do it.

I love JRPGs man. SMT, Persona, DQ, Tales of, etc

But I for the life of me could not get into this. I played for about 10 hours and it was just a loop of walk through small corridor hallway> cutscene> walkthrough corridor> cutscene > walkthrough corridor> cutscene> scripted fight you can't lose unless you legitimately dumb rinse and repeat

Wish it would just let me off the reigns but I gave up. The combat system was actually cool when it happened it just needed to ease up on the cutscenes

I just bought FF7R Integrade for my Switch 2 and I know its a dramatic shift from traditional ff games but I'll give that one a shot

I loved the story and combat more than just caring about being able to go anywhere. I knew I was hooked in with the attack at the stadium scene. I'm sure this hallway simulator game would be annoying to anyone else who's played JRPG's before.

if you can find on original hardware it's well worth it, the remaster's are heavily compromised versions of the game i'd say

Eh PC version is goated for speed options lol

  • World1

Definitely go Zodiac Age if you go this route @Beemo

    Oh yeah 100%

The FF games that came before it are much, much more in need of modernizing.

Other than graphics, which are still fine compared to any of the FF games before it, the gameplay of FFX is basically perfect. The remasters didnt even touch anything except the graphics, and they actually f***ed them up -- it looks worse than the PS2 original.

What do you think needs modernizing about FFX? It's one of the best designed turn-based RPGs of the century.

  • RASIE

Why you say that? Other than the character models i mean

Yeah having played both I'm struggling to think of anything different aside from the visuals

  • safari

Let’s do IX first then dump all the profits from all the remakes into X

IX remake would probably lose money lowkey an X remake would finance an IX remake

Yeah it really is just a perfectly crafted game tbh. Held up incredibly well.

I mean I'd totally play a remake of course but 6, 8 and 9 need it way more.

Start with the fact that its a quarter century old…

Why do old gamers assume newer gamers want to snort the same line of nostalgia they have to enjoy a game?

I can play it. You can play it but to suggest that there’s no benefits from updating it just sounds crazy & I think that an overwhelming amount of gamers new & old would agree if they were presented with the options.

I love X. Have bought it on pretty much every platform it’s released on. It needs a fresh release for new fans.

There were people claiming we didn’t need a TLOU remake. It was too soon. “Need” is kind of a dumb word to use when referring to video games but the upgrade was definitely beneficial & a welcome upgrade over the PS3 version imo.

VI by far needs it the most but I feel like thats more likely to get a Pixel remaster

You didnt even begin to answer the question.

Damn i didn’t know reading comprehension was that hard lol I answered why I think it should be remade.

Its not like you said any reaaon why it shouldn’t be remade besides the fact that you personally can tolerate it. A fact that can be be made about any game depending on the gamer. Real astute a***ysis

The developers think there are things they can improve on for the modern gamers’ experience. If you think there haven’t been advancements in gaming that would improve the game you’re silly. Even just QOL s***. If you can’t comprehend that then just move around lol keep eating up them ashy ass textures lol

Nigga standing on “They can’t improve a 25 year old game because I still like it.”

That VA alone was bad when it released. Wtf makes you think it cant be improved? LMAO

beyond the obvious financial incentive I think a lot of the reason FF7 was remade was because how dated the game was visually compared to games now. I don't think FFX necessarily falls into that same bucket. It holds up pretty well today imo.

Regardless, I would enjoy a remake with an action rpg combat system to give the game a new twist.

7 also had a lot of other continuations like Advent Children/Kingdom Hearts/other spin offs. The original looks like f***ing legos so a remake was a natural thing.

    10 is... not that

Again, I said while I may be able to tolerate it & YOU may think that's cool & all but it’s dated.

This was never about if its playable. That was never suggested. Buddy tried to act like there were 0 positives in a remake & I promise you if they dropped another HD remaster of it, folks aint running to get it.

Say it's fine for you personally but to expect gamers born in the last 25 years since it's released to share that same opinion is just stupid. Unless you’re on some weird ass gatekeeping s***, a new audience alone is worth remaking it. By his logic when exactly is a good time to remake it then & why? 50 years?

My 16 yo nephew aint buying s*** that looks like this. Ya’know their target audience? Not old niggas coming off a quarter century nostalgia high.

Yeah dude I get you. Just sayin FFX still looks artistically awesome/beautiful even if it's aged, while the others just look like archaic stale ass (love em tho)

Personally I think it looks great on handheld. On a quality TV or a quality monitor not so much.

Regardless of how fondly I look on that PS2 era, i’m not about to be biased & feign ignorance like they aren’t dusty. Games like Silent Hill 2, Ratchet & Clank, MGS Delta, RE:4, & Person 3 Reload are welcome remakes from that era.
