They’re f***ed in the head because every household was playing Raymond Scott’s “Soothing Sounds For Baby” series.
And you may be thinking “but Poolboy Q, these songs aren’t that bad they’re adorable attempts at using early electronic instruments to market towards baby boom”
And you’d be correct. They’re is nothing wrong with this and it sound like Mort Garson’s Plantasia which would come out about a decade later

It may be borderline 11 minutes long but who cares? It’s for a baby who won’t remember anything anyways. It’s not like playing these albums could have any profound effect on their underdeveloped brains.
That is….
Until your Raymond Scott and you want to sneak in a few audio-terrorist tracks to completely rewire little Tommy’s brain chemistry:

18 MINUTES OF TOY TYPEWRITER?
Music critics at the time called it “skull splitting”
Unfortunately, in 1964 reading music reviews wasn’t a thing yet. I mean, JFK got his s*** smooth pushed back slick just one year prior.
Let me paint another picture for you.
Meredith just set little Tommy down in his baby room unsupervised after throwing Vol. 3 on.
Sure maybe Tommy’s brain can handle track 1 Tin Soldier. S***. He may even acquire a newfound appreciation for dub in his teens if the treble end of the mix doesn’t blow out his ear drums.

Then Ole Ray shows us he can actually make music on track 2. This one almost puts baby to sleep every time. But that’s the catch….

Because next thing you know, Ray’s back to his usual MO, 15 minutes of musical waterboarding.

Now baby’s wide awake after drifting off to La La land on track 2, completely disrupting the baby’s natural sleep rhythm. This makes baby angry.
Luckily that album was only 3 tracks but I mean when your looping clicks and bloops for a dozen minutes it can take up allot of disc space.
Mr. Scott (heh it’s always a Scott isn’t it) didn’t always go for the 14 minute goal. Sometimes it was only 8 minutes or so of pure hell so let’s give the guy a break, okay? It’s just two obnoxious toy piano notes to the tune of a turn signal

All in all I think that late Boomer early Gen X gen that had to sit thru the mental torment their unaware parents subjected them to by putting Raymond Scott’s “Soothing” Sounds For Baby, which should probably be called Shooting Pains For Ear, recieved undiagnosed mind altering affects to the brain making them prone to anger and confusion.

Bro classic ktt1 post. This is actually interesting af. It's so weird knowing that people made cool s*** like this early as the 60's. I have this weird time perception that everything moden was made practically in the 70's or 80's, but a lot of tech was made earlier. This music is weird af. Just random boops and beeps
Dam
that and the lead poisoning
You have to be on meds or d**** to write a post that long on that subject.
Wish I had your focus OP
I’m sorry that happened to you
Or im glad that happened for you

LMAO
I love it when americans think they're the entire planet
but going back to the music topic
this s*** hard
toy typewriter is probably meant to mimic the horse clopping sound effects, which many babies respond positively to
that and the lead poisoning
This was literally my first thought after reading the title sadly
I’m sorry that happened to you
Or im glad that happened for you
