I liked Save Me although that was an ep.
You're right, he doesn't have to prove himself as his spot is already solidified but there's nothing wrong with wanting more from him.

earthwalkablame the producers?? they not the ones selecting the beats. Future could literally work with any producer he wants yet he CHOOSES, yes chooses, to work with the same ones that make the same type of beats (for him).
and Future not the only one, producers facilitate the demand for the type of beats that rappers want. if a rapper didn't want that beat, they wouldn't pick it but they do want those beats and producers gotta eat so they supply the beats that the rappers demand.
the responsibility of pushing the genre forward can't be solely on the producer, the artist has to WANT it for themselves. You can pull up to a studio session as a producer and play the most unique and creative s*** but if the rapper wants a "lil baby type beat" then you gotta supply that demand and there ain't no convincing them once they tell you what they want unless y'all have a deeper relationship where you can be more honest and open.
A lot of artists are stagnant, and have no desire to change so we are left with what we get when it comes to these 21 track albums of trap beats that all sound the same and it is what it is but it all comes down to what the artist wants to make because at the end of the day it's the artists' music not the producers' music.
facts this literally happens with me irl when i pull up to a local studio session to produce some s*** lol
whats worse is the niggas that claim they want "unique" s*** then end up just going back to their" comfort zone" after wasting time or acting like its gonna follow through
i do think it takes both tho fofr s*** to change. we cant just be waiting on the other to make the move forever.
