  • i honestly dont know where else to throw this out but i kinda need someone to talk to

something really f***ed up happened tonight. my roommate has a history of mental health problems and tonight she seriously hurt herself while she was intoxicated. i found her, called an ambulance and she got taken to the hospital. i dont really wanna go into details because i dont think i can right now.

im sitting here now and i feel weirdly numb. i keep replaying everything in my head and thinking about what could have happened if i had already been asleep. i also keep wondering if i did everything i should have done.

i live with her and honestly i dont even know how im supposed to deal with this now. part of me feels like i cant live here anymore but then i also feel horrible about leaving her alone.

idk i just needed somewhere to put this. dont really know what im looking for, i think i just need someone to talk to and process this with.

Sorry you had to see that and Im sorry she’s going through it. You were likely in shock when you were typing that and it was hard to process. Have you been able to take it easier on yourself? I think you did everything you could in the moment. Is this something you can go through again?

  • Sorry to hear OP. If I were you I’d get out of that place for a couple days to mentally reset, while she is in the hospital. Maybe go to another friend or relative’s house just to fully unpack what happened & get your mind right. Best of luck!

Man f*** all the dumb s*** and emotional cornering buzzwords. Nigga gonna end up hurt himself or just some general bullshit happens stemming from being involved with her. but f*** it its this nigga life I'm just scrolling KTT giving my unsolicited opinion i'm sure he'll update us on how it goes

other people's mental illness isn't my/one's problem to where it starts f***ing up s*** in your own life, especially if not a family member or longtime friend. life crazy

definitely don't beat yourself up about what they did that's not on you at all.

you should definitely find somewhere to go with family or friends for a little while to boost your mood and clear your mind.

while she's in the hospital you need to be getting in touch with her family to figure out how this will go long term.

obviously we all want to take care of the people we care about but you're putting a lot on yourself staying with somebody that could possibly do something that leaves you traumatized.

the best thing you can do is help get her in a situation where she's not living alone and also not living with you for the time being.

    praying for you though

  • I went to the hospital a few years ago for sumthin similar, spent 10 days there came out back to everything its not a death sentence and it doesnt mean someone is so crazy that u cant be around them

It's not your responsibility bro. You're a good person for caring but like everyone said it's best to go your separate ways. She should be given the tools necessary to take care of herself by professionals

very human response to have. You did the right thing. Honestly you cant be with her every moment and doctor or medical professional will likely have a recommendation for her to stay somewhere she can be monitored so she doesnt kill herself or harm herself. That is not a job or responsibility you are qualified to do even if you were unemployed and had all the time in the world.

You did the right thing. Sorry you saw that and were traumatized. You did what you had to do.

you got to find a better way to word things .

  • You did the right thing. It's normal to ruminate and replay things mentally even if you don't want to, just gotta let the emotions process. Even typing up your post I'm sure helped to some degree.

If I was in your position I'd be taking more daily walks and hitting the gym for at least the next three days, keeping your body moving and getting fresh air will help you feel better.

  • Sorry Botney
