    Classique

Iceman kinda smoked Cole’s album but this was my favorite Cole album in a long time and an elite album this year

I like iceman a lot but the rapping and storytelling is vastly better and far more intentional on TFO. Iceman does have the better production tho

  • Great album that delivered (for me) on its years long wait.

I got it in my top 3 albums this year, all genres.

  • real OP his best album, it's great

  • this album is actually insanely underrated it's crazy. i get it cus it's a massive double album by j cole but it's so consistently great

  • Kinda sad it was bloated af and never revisit it

  • ColeToThe

Its a shame we will never get a Drake Cole album... I really wonder what happened behind scenes if Drake could forgive Future but not Cole (who didnt do anything?!)

    Ignore him apparently lol

  • NICEMAN

Can't believe niggas are gassing the rapping on Iceman when this dropped just 3 months prior

But Cole had 0 replay value and Iceman does

you have to listen to the albums in two different mindsets essentially based on how he has presented it and explained it

Disc 29 can stand on it’s own as a prelude to the actual “fall off” concept he’s exploring in disc 39, which is everything he made post beef apology and realizing how much his wife means to him and that reigniting that passion he felt he was beginning to lose for music as he wasn’t being himself

I think it’s an amazing project once you understand why it’s crafted the way it was and what the entire concept of the fall off is supposed to be. he said after the peak of 2014FHD that he was struggling to find that passion for rapping again, which is probably why we got a concept album like 4YEO cause he gets to enter someone else’s life in order to gain that sense of inspiration he was looking for in making music

I think the era between that, KOD - Dreamville albums - feature run - The Offseason gave him a false sense of reality about the album he was crafting until the beef happened and he realized “fuck, I’m still not feeling any of this s*** and now I’m at the peak of what i thought i wanted when really and still feel the same when i just want to be home with my girl and my kids” and that’s pretty much what Disc 39 is saying lmfao

    don't worry
    new s*** otw

  • Leftside

Iceman blowing this s*** out the water

  • This album was probably the worst first listen I had this year

  • Still been in heavy rotation

  • Oblivion X

I like iceman a lot but the rapping and storytelling is vastly better and far more intentional on TFO. Iceman does have the better production tho

I’d put rapping even but Cole did go crazy with the storytelling and making it a personal album comes down to preference

    It’s a good album

Can't believe niggas are gassing the rapping on Iceman when this dropped just 3 months prior

iceman got cool raps with blockbuster beats everything you want from a drake joint so i don’t blame ppl for hyping it when he’s been mostly absent for a year and some change

    Low bar but yes

  • CRACKASTEPPAVEGAN

Any double disc of j Cole cannot be aoty or top 3

  • Midzy

    Low bar but yes

  • I agree. Love Cole's album.

People sleep on it because it lacks "club bangers" but the themes and narratives on it were great alongside this insane raps and flows.
