I want you to win but where is this confidence coming from? What makes you so sure about this happening?
Because the shorts have not covered. They have been digging the same grave since January. That's all I'm waiting for, and it's a fact that they have not.
Gme was 140% shorted in January, and right along with it has been AMC, brought back from the void of bankruptcy. they did not cover then. It has only gotten worse and worse. A***ysts (and not just reddit) have admitted to this as fact. Elon, Mark Cuban, professionals in the financial industry, even on mass media news networks, etc. Have stated it as fact. There are so many FTD's that just keep getting kicked down the road over and over again. So many synthetic shares out there piling up.
Also the fact that the DTCC and NSCC keep passing rules and regulations regarding this situation to make sure it never happens again.
People don't need to believe it, that's okay. From the outside I'm sure they see a stock going down and they don't believe it. That's the point. These Hedge funds do not want people to gain confidence in this stock. There is actually little turnover when it comes to holders of this stock.
Do you really believe people are buying millions of shares right before market closes and selling it in buckets every day at market open for over a month now?
I would love to go into more detail about it, but this forum is very jaded on many topics. Alot of what I'd like to explain would ultimately be wasted words . And I get it, I love getting my jokes off too so I'm not judging. But It's just better to say my peace and keep it rolling on this particular topic. I know I'm coming out right in the end and I promise it will happen.

Best of luck to you King. Just remember to break us off when you make it

The SEC is filled with lobbyist picked people who are there on the dollar of the banks/pe/hedge funds
Why would they ever allow this to happen? Regular people holding a stock that should be 10 bucks isn’t gonna crash a whole market. Even if the theories are proven true and these funds have to make capital calls to cover these shorts — regulators/lobbyist from Wall Street aren’t gonna let that happen.
It just seems like this is widespread speculation that leads to occasional peaks in the price when interest/discussion spikes.
Why wouldn’t other more advanced groups like Citadel buy up all of AMC and just hold way before this meme stock thing popped up? They already have been manipulating stock prices for years through very sophisticated technology. The fact more sophisticated investors aren’t trying to leverage this for profit says a lot to me.

Citadel cannot buy up all of AMC as retail investors literally own 80% of the stock.
They originally thought they were going to short it to oblivion like they've done many stocks previously. If you short it nothing, you don't have to pay to cover. This has worked many times for them.
What they didn't anticipate is an entire movement to trap them into this long form of warfare and now they're stuck between continuing to short until investors lose interest, or covering for it. However they have borrowed so many shares they would have to cover not only their actual positions but the synthetic shares as well.
As for the SEC, if they decide to sit on hands it won't matter, but it'll take quite a while longer. They're already aware of the situation and have put rules in place so that way this never happens again.
You have to realize citadel not only has to pay millions to short the stock but interest and extras that come with continuing this war. That margin is going to keep going and going until their clearing houses and the agencies that will be responsible for the bill after citadel runs dry have had enough because that money will come out of their pocket as well.
If you don't think it'll happen, I understand. But it will, one way or another. There's a reason if you short and you don't cover, the loss is literally infinite. They will lose more money than you can imagine when they have to cover.
Also you have to realize not only is citadel (a market maker) is shorting this but smaller hedge funds who don't have nearly the same length of leeway. It'll eventually come tumbling down and it'll be something to watch.
And just so you know there are groups that have bought amc because they know this event will happen. Blackrock has invested quite a bit in AMC and gme. There's reasons for that. The fed is invested in Blackrock, they know it's gonna go down. No other reason for the govt to invest in movies and video game retailers lmao

By the way, this is the Head of the SEC who is encouraging the debate and forum of the stock. While I don't know what he'll eventually do and whether it will be in the retails best interest, it is very encouraging to hear he is taking this situation seriously, he is aware of what's going on and he is not against retail trading information and ideas in public forums like reddit, saying "it's no different than mentioning a stock on television"

I think a recent rule actually is going to lend them money to pay for the squeeze. I need to research it further before I confirm that.
Have you held on completely? Or did you sell any when it reached 60+? Thinking about getting in on this if it drops a bit more, I remember seriously considering back when it was like 12 a share but decided against it

I think you misinterpreted what I said about Citadel— I’m asking why haven’t they done the same before as retail investors are doing now? It’s easily within their capability and foresight to have done this if the likely outcome is the short sellers losing and price skyrocketing.
As far as Blackrock investing in meme stocks — that’s just them taking advantage of a volatile stock and cashing in and out between changes. They have entire divisions of algorithm traders dedicated to taking advantage of short term prices differences. They are not long on this.

Why haven't they bought any to participate in the squeeze?
They believe they can still win I imagine. They keep shorting it for a reason. They believe they can outlast retail. I mean what's the point of buying for the squeeze considering if they are actually caught by the SEC they did blatantly illegal actions with the naked shorting. So what's the point? They may face jail time for what they've done.
As for Blackrock, they haven't sold, but only increased their position from the reporting I've seen. I think they would've sold at 70 if that was their game. Not hold until the 20's.
Ngl I'm kind of miffed that I keep buying at the wrong times. I watched that s*** bounce from mid 40s to high 30s for a couple weeks, buy in at 38 and now the s*** might drop to high 20s

I mean buy in won't matter much if you're trading for the squeeze. I plan on getting more Friday. I'm sure it'll be mid 20's by then

True, I'm trying to make sure I get at least 2 shares for everyone in my immediate family before it squeezes tho, and I could do that more effectively if I stop mistiming so badly lol. The $72 I spent on 2 shares prob would've gotten me 3 had I waited
