HVAC, Plumbing, Electrician. Commercial and service wise can be great money. I do commercial plumbing. Company im with pays for my schooling and they’re putting me in supervisory classes and cross training in pipefitting/hvac to become a general superintendent. People mis underestimate trades. You can find a job anywhere honestly if you’re in a trade.

F*** it I might just have to actually pay for classes to do HVAC

Yea America and that's fair all the meth dudes I knew actually came from a specific county thats well known for meth. Ironically I grew up there too

There's other companies out there that will cross train you on a bunch of s*** like roto rooter or service professor as well. Then you get to pick your specialization and what not

Makes sense, and I'm about to look at the companies that can cross train

True but how many hours you working?

Everyone I see working in the trades looks like 10 years older than they are starting at like 30.

Last year we had a big job to do so it was all overtime 70+. There are other times where I’ve just worked 40hrs a week for months on end. You have to be built for that environment. And mind you we’re not working every minute of the day we take breaks and f*** off. They don’t like it but at the end the hands put in the work.

As a superintendent you won’t even touch tools. Just an iPad and you go out and tell the guys what needs to be done for the day, material, etc.

I’m 31 and I still look like like my early 20s. You just have to know how to work it. Your attitude and personality goes a long way also

Find a company that offers schooling! My company pays for my trade school. I don’t necessarily need plumbing school but it helps with attaining a journeyman license and since it’s a texas license, it’s the most recognized license in the states.

  • Honestly I’m a huge advocate for trades. Yeah it’s hard work but it changes you into a man. Construction/trades saved my life I was f***ing up a lot before I got into it. You just have to always have YOUR safety in mind and OTHERS also. That’s how you keep longevity. It’s better to take those extra few seconds or minutes than to rush something and have to come back to it wasting more time and money.

I figure pretty much any career, at the high level, is pretty much you just chilling n delegating ppl and getting paid 4x while breaking your back and stressing way less than those below you.

    That's always the dream

I know I'm personally not built for a CDL life. Most of the people I talk to in HVAC seem happy though

My g I honestly don't think I have one friend anymore, haven't talked to anyone in like 2 years.... My family straight, we all like being alone so I have nothing to come back to... Thanks for the tip tho, is that an extra class or something?

This made me feel a sense of profound sorrow.

I do project management, as well as being a manager at my company. I’ve jumped up a f*** ton the last 2 years but miss the college warehouse job i worked where i made a fraction of this job I’m at now. Grass is always greener i guess……

CDL seems like one of those jobs that sound a lot more enticing than it would be in actuality. I’d vote HVAC as someone who has gone through the trade route as well

Even doing residential for a company that pays commision on booking leads will make u so much bread

Commercial has higher rates but less room for more
