Dude is legit a fool and treated his fans terribly with that whole thing/rollout
Real s***, if he actually went through with a proper rollout/marketing campaign for that song at least, no doubt he would've landed another hit with it
“we’re not close like that yet”
“yet”
means there’s more to come.
What are you quoting?

Leads me to believe he doesn't even want another hit.
Can't get a song bigger than This is America anyway
This really didn't hit for me I'm shocked. May give it a respin tho love Donald
Great album, give it some more spins I think you'll like it

One of the biggest Gambino stans on this site and I genuinely was not all that impressed first listen. CDQ + a good pair of headphones + a few more spins and it clicked and I love it
19.10 and 47.48
As a certified Gambino sad boy stan, I didn’t fully get this album initially, (I personally found BTI and AML much more immediate for my ear) but this really is AOTY, no competition, word to @LD
Truer words never spoken (as usual)

@Donald_Glover

Lotta people come up with some fake and nonsensical reasons to not like this album.
"The album isn't mixed well and the production is bad!"
Has some of the smoothest and most seamless transitions from track to track as the whole album is meant to be played through in a single sitting. It has even been sequenced almost masterfully because of this as well.
How is the production bad when tracks like Algorhythm, Millennial Love, To Be Hunted, Violence, Final Church, Feels Like Summer, and Time all exist on the same album?
Just say you gotta smooth brain with the attention span of a toddler and are upset you didn't get a tracklist, album title, and artwork. All of which are irrelevant when it comes to talking about the actual music.

People can dislike the things you like. Especially if it's Donald Glover

Of course. But I'd be more inclined to believe it if it wasn't normally immediately followed up by things like:
"There's no tracklist!" "Where's Saturday and Human Sacrifice!?" "I only listened once!" "This isn't what I wanted or expected!" "No wonder he flopped!"
You can easily tell when people are being genuine with their criticism or just being spiteful because they didn't like the rollout/presentation or lack thereof.

Pretentious / mysterious music lost!!

I kinda think he intentionally flopped this release presumably because it was his last for RCA so he wanted them to make as little money as possible off of it..

wym last for RCA lmao this was his first album on a major label

Nope, just checked on Spotify, it’s listed as “2020 mcDJ Recording, under license to RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment”

...what about that implies that this is his last for RCA when this is his first project since signing with them
says the exact same thing on all of his other albums as well except under license to his old label

It was his first project with them though if I remember correctly...
Then again maybe Gambino just felt that the major label thing really wasn't the wave after all and released it like this so they'd drop him and he'd be free again.

Wait lmao nvm, I stand corrected, for some reason I forgot about Glassnote and had been thinking he’s been under RCA this whole time. Interesting
EDIT: I just took a good number of dabs so yeah, forgive me
