Debating vaccination is an ideological dead end. There’s always mental gymnastics at play that put you at an impenetrable impasse. It’s the “military industrial complex is bad, but there’s justified wars” of domestic issues. People will be debating stuff like this forever. I think people should really get vaccinated, I just don’t want them coerced into it especially if it’s what allows them to eat. I think we need to reach people who feel this way and understand their concerns without writing them off as crazies or politically reprehensible. It’s not just reactionary rednecks. Plenty of data shows that a large percentage not getting vaccinated are people of color. They have understandable reasons to be skeptical of the medical industry.

The vaccine greatly reduces the risk of infection, it doesn't totally erase it

So the more infections there are, the greater the risk you will get infected
