    for me 2026 definitely been more of a non hip hop year i still need to listen to a lot of s***, and the major releases i heard didnt move me at all

    but these are the ones i personally think are remarkable / excellent and i enjoy a lot

    I think every major rap release disappointed me this year: Drake, J Cole, Rocky, Future, Ross….

    My 3 favs were Don Toliver which he’s like a rap R&B hybrid, this new thirteendegrees but that’s just more vibe music, and Bossman Dlow

    Edit: completely forgot Zay in my favs. I usually just check my playlist to remember which albums came out this year but I never added songs to it from Zay

    He is the next one to go on a run if there’s a prospect out there. Just depends on how well he rides the line between niche street nigga music (2 minute punchline spam songs that is cool for a few weeks at a time before you go bump some more traditional/lyrical s***) vs trying to be more versatile and risking the lil baby fell off syndrome

    But stylistically he the most intriguing mainstream trajectory dude this year

    Subtly I’d be kinda shaking in my boots if I was Veeze lol he gon surpass him in that shock value caption street rap lane

    A great album can single handedly keep a washed artist relevant and I’d say there is a market for being able to perform and do hits that people actually remember. End of the day nobody is going to a Future show to hear his new s***

    We don’t remember a single new rapper this decade because they’re all ass

    I’m honestly just happy the Grammy cutoff is closing this week, because that 70th Grammy rollout is about to be crazy.

    Hip-hop been kinda subpar this year, so I’m ready for this next cycle to kick in. Once that window closes, it’s a whole new race. New albums, new campaigns, new singles, everybody trying to position themselves for the next Grammy run.

    The best is yet to come, I can confirmed a big release will happen before the year ends.
