Im trying to restart my wardrobe where should I look to figure out what style I like and where to buy basics/essentials?

your clothes IMO should support your lifestyle - when you're thinking about basics

go to stores, try s*** out, don't feel bad about not buying anything

There are no shortcuts when it comes to developing your taste. Its just about taking in as much as possible and seeing what you f*** with. As for building a wardrobe I'd start off with a well fitting pants and thrift or ebay everything else. Ask yourself if you'd still wear it in 5 years before buying it

Honestly I’m going through that rn and men doing TikTok’s of their capsule wardrobe does a ton for me. It helps me identify key pieces and how you can wear them in multiple ways.

Like others said, look at pictures from different fashion communities and compile an album of what you like/are inspired by. Youtube channels, tik toks, etc can help you open your mind or start your search but at the end of the day, you just gotta go out/order stuff online and try stuff out to see what you truly like.
