Rick Ross, French Montana, Kendrick, ASAP Rocky, 2Chainz, Young Thug, Travis, Drake

In terms of people actually writing it themselves for the most part

Some of them aren't as anthemic or club popped like Rocky n Kendrick but they always have a few in the tuck that pop majorly and they're consistent otherwise too, and they along with Travis n Drake (n Kanye but he has a lot of writers) are the only Rappers that non singles that are big songs that are thought of n on the same level of listens as singles such as Money Trees and Electric Body

Yeah, I'm not talking anything after the 2010's I should have clarified, so I agree.

The work he did early on those G-Unit albums as well as with his roster, it was amazingly put together.

Yup prime 50 did that s*** in his sleep

Not a rapper but absolutely nobody this century is coming close to prime post malone hook ability. and that nigga music mostly mid

  • THE VILLAINOUS

Traditionally there was no singing on the hooks, or it was frowned upon but now most hooks are singing, and thats where Drake got the cheat code for success

Drake practically did away with the "pop singer on the hook to a rap song" formula that plagued the late 2000s and early 2010s. Before that, you had guys like Nelly but that was more so taken to be his style, not the template. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on that tho.

dat lil boy fakemink be writing some good ahh hooks

Was gonna say this, it’s a real strong point of his. One thing cool about him too is his verses are suuuper catchy cuz he really embodies the UK rap tradition of prioritizing rhythmic danceabikity in his delivery which makes sense due to grime

Esdeekid also writes crazy ass hooks that guy makes straight up anthems effortlessly

Ross is a sleeper because when I think about Ross, I typically don't really remember his hooks, it's more verses and albums I love but you're right

even on his newer albums like Port of Miami 2 and Richer than I've ever been, the hooks he does are still very strong

People posting Drake like there are not full references tracks of hooks and verses being written for him.

You've just typed this when there's not more than 12 reference tracks out with a 500+ song discography.
