BabaláwoI never realized it’s a lot more common to not know or met a Jewish person, than it is to have met or know one. Born and raised in Chicago, a north side suburb Schaumburg iirc is the biggest community of Jewish people and/or holocaust survivors. Literally grew up right next to a Jewish elementary school/Synagogue. I’ve had 2 teachers that were Jewish. A few classmates who were Jewish as well. So I’ve been around them more or less my whole life. I just never realized there’s only like 15 mil Jewish people total. That’s so crazy to me that a majority of people will have never met or interacted with a Jewish person.
Bruh even when I went to boarding school in Nigeria, there was a Jewish kid that was my senior.
I didn't realize that about Schaumburg but yeah there are a great deal of Jewish people in Chicagoland area
