Every 5 years or so I hear people b****ing about the state of rap music.

But usually with that, there's some really exciting new artists with potential to push the genre forward.

I look around now, and it's a pretty barren landscape.

How tf are we gonna make middle aged Drake, Cole and Kendrick carry the torch still? There's no one for them to pass it to.

Who's selling records and bringing bars?
Who's making some real artistic efforts with depth to it even? Maybe a couple no names are making some sparks with rocks right now, but have yet to catch fire.

We need a new generation artist to step up in 2024. It's really getting sad seeing 49 year old Drake can't even take a vacation to get his tummy fixed because nobody wants to drop music anymore

Smh at jack Harlow's performance btw. Garbage. He got ethered by Dolly Parton today so he doesn't even deserve a mention as a good upcoming artist.

Talking about s***in the A-M while my dad is watching in disgust.

2 good songs and has been mid ever since. Only surviving off the good graces of the s***ty state of the industry nowadays.

Would've been Yelawolf status if mfs nowadays weren't just dropping one album and chilling at the crib the rest of their lives

They make the same s***. How many d***s they suck? How they f***in? How big they ass?

I feel like it's just p*** for my ears. Don't know if I'm supposed to listen for the verse or start jerking off.

I respect Nicki because she really puts effort into what she's saying, if she's not creative with the bars, she'll keep switching cadences or flows and find pockets. She's not the most innovative b**** that ever lived, but leagues above whatever else is going on.

They’re unique in the sense that they came up all at the same time organically (something that is missing these days) and continually pushing their talents forward as well as not succumbing to any sort of addictions, death, or controversies that have gotten a lot of their predecessors. They’re all three in the top 25 rappers of all time at minimum. “Replacing” one would be challenging but all three still operating at this level is impossible. Not even getting into most of the newer generation lacks the love and respect for the genre that all three have shown and why they will continue to stand the test of time

Of course we have. They're all goated and in all time discussions
But it isn't too much to ask for some innovative and creative artists to be around rn.

They shouldn't be left to keep doing this. Kendrick and Cole are already looking at the exit because they've cemented their legacies.

Drake just dropping just to drop because it's like he's the only fish in the f***ing water nowadays. I hardly ever hear about anyone dropping anymore.

But the fact that there's like no one that inspires some hope here is disheartening to say the least

big 3 gets the most unfair treatment out of any legend group

They all have multiple diamond records and classic albums at this point but everyone still treats them like rookies who need to prove their talents

They are but they don't put in half the work Nicki does on her verses.

They took the wrong parts about what she does. She actually crafts that s*** with technical skills too.

It's why Nicki actually gets mentions outside of the bubble that is female rappers when talking about the greats

The would-be next big three failed recently the ones we got now have to carry the load

    Lil Baby fell off
    Gunna snitched
    Young Thug is in jail

  • Because there has been no one to take the title from them yet which is sad

Was hoping for some songs but alright, I can check them out.

But they're still just a bunch of no names in the industry right now.

If you write off everyone you’ve never heard of as a “no name” then we’ll never get another A-list artist again. Everyone has to start somewhere
