Sam Okyere is the guy you're referring to. He's actually a beloved figure in South Korea and they love having on their shows, especially since he familiarized himself with the culture and became a part of it.

Being that he's a minority in the country, it's messed up that he received the amount of hate he did, but tons of Koreans still love and support him despite all that. It's not like the entire country hates him.

If you look around on YouTube, you'll also find black YouTubers who talk to Koreans about issues that concern black people. Generally, the Koreans in the video are respectful and make a genuine effort to understand. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation. Of course, the older generations are harder to get through, but the younger folks tend to be more open-minded nowadays.

About the Korean shops, are they discriminating if they treat every customer that way, though? Not saying it's okay for them to do. Sure, nobody likes being followed around, but you just don't know unless you see them treating a white customer differently from a black customer. I know of some stores that follow everyone around regardless of what you look like. They just think they're protecting their assets.
