MBDTF was made for the critics specifically.
That Dirty Money album really solidified the rap/R&B merging that was going on at the moment. Some great songwriting, great features and production, great use of autotune.
I'd rather listen to Paris then MBDTF anyday of the week.

iirc what y’all are referencing with the MDBTF being “made for critics” is because Ye said (paraphrasing) that he had to come back and make a perfect album just to shut everybody up.
Even if it truly is critic bait, that don’t change the reality that it’s a generationally great album

It plays like it was made to win a Grammy.
As an album it's just a super industry flex, showing Kanye's clout at its zenith.
But it doesnt compare to the 4 albums that came before it in any shape or form. Everything he did on MBDTF he did better somewhere else.
Probably the least innovative Ye album productionwise
