It's crazy to me that even after a year of niggas being indoors and restaurants being closed, niggas still looking down on delivery people. Yall aint learned at least that?
i just said that. if the money dash and uber is paying isn’t enough to stay even then yes maybe you are correct i shouldn’t be aiding the horrible business operations and just stop using it all together. i admittedly don’t use either much i rather just drive to get it myself and save the fees.
Seriously quit using it if you can't even throw $3
One thing to realize is the company uber eats and uber as a whole I believe has YET to turn a profit. If they paid out it would not exist
Even though Uber takes a cut of between 20 to 30 percent of all orders, it has yet to make a profit. The argument made by Uber is once it has expanded enough and the market has stabilised, Eats will be profitable, but investors are worried that even in the pandemic, when Uber saw its gross bookings triple, it still failed to generate a profit.
They add the tips on the bill, but you can take them off at the help desk
You should see the line at the help desk on the last day
Lmao I mustve miss that part every time man
stuff like that is where a line should be drawn
Like I don't understand the people that are against tipping
Like bro what are you even standing for lmao
You can't leave $1
We two dine very differently if a 20% tip amounts to $1 for you bud
It’s f***ed up that the system of tipping exists but since it does, the right thing to do is to just stop crying, shut the f*** up, and add at least 15% to your bill unless the service is egregiously bad

Niggas saying the business model is terrible but you use the business
i don’t disagree with you on this while my past statements are contradictory. probably just more that if i stopped doing business with every company that i had a problem with their ethics and operations, i’m not sure what i would do actually tbh

They never respected service workers to begin with. During the pandemic they looked down on service workers lol nothing will ever change

‼️‼️
always nice to see a feminist
People complain that they get unfair wages and have to live off of tips but in reality most people who receive tips make more than minimum wage. If their tips don't equal at least minimum wage then their employer has to legally pay the difference.
I don’t leave tips because tipping reinforces the capitalist mindset that restaurants should require their employees to work for tips instead of being paid a fair wage
So why would I encourage that capitalist behavior by tipping?
Bruh u can't be serious
They're asking u to tip them a couple dollars for going out of their way to deliver YOUR food to you, they giving you a service lmao if u can order the food in u can afford to add a tip of a few dollars
I do. But when someone starts feeling entitled to something that is by definition charity I start getting a little pissed off.
I'm not looking down on them. I'm someone who pushes a higher living wage. But some s*** is completely broken as a business model.
Like how tf did we allow delivery services like this stay open which got people slaving away and breaking down their own cars depending on the good will of people to tip.
shouldn't they have covered this cost from the jump?
I see where u coming from. Yeah it's insane we let it get to this point, they should be covered by the damn companies. Actually only recently were uber drivers in canada now recognized as employees. These companies rely on the labor of these people but can't even officially acknowledge them as workers? Nigga what

Sarcasm right lmao

But you use the restaurant though
Y'all don't see how this is a contradiction

You're still giving them money you're just not giving it to the worker
If tips was getting down on ur knees at sucking ur server d*** after the meal y’all would be doing that too huh
