we need better ways to teach children how to navigate the internet with critical thought. Social media is still in its infancy all things considered and the ramifications of it have surfaced.
A generation of kids so easily influenced by corporate algorithms because parents plop an ipad in their face and let them be.
All these e-celebs/right wing/left wing always fighting for whats right and wrong when most of these people are just money suckers. people can get so easily trapped in a tight world bubble on the internet because you can easily find just enough people that share your world view.
i'm an old f*** and when I was young we were taught about cyberbullying and internet harm in my school years. I don't know if they're still teaching kids anything like that.
this generation of kids is gonna grow up with AI micheal jackson beating hitler in world war 2 and believe it.
edit: actually let me not put this all on the youth. the adult generation i don't believe knew how to handle modern day internet either.
Yeah that's an issue but ipads didn't exist when I was growing up and it's a lot of ~30 year olds I'm seeing on my Facebook feed pushing this garbage, and even more 50+ year olds doing it
This is a bigger issue than ipad kids

yea i edited my post because i was sort of answering the OP title question but I realize we're in this position in the first place because also adults/people are just as easily influenced and swayed by media illiteracy. We just take things at face value with no pause to question the validity of what we're being taught. Let's just trust the charismatic internet/news anchor.
You mentioned Facebook which is probably one of the first big offenders. I know there's a statistic saying Facebook and the like are people's biggest ways of consuming news.
i've always been very cynical of the internet because I always feel like I'm being sold some s***.
To combat this issue we need to continue teaching the youth to not believe everything they hear even if it's from their fave U2uber.
You and I are from the generation that was defintely taught that.
These people spouting nonense on the internet are so far removed from my life. I don't let those people affect or even bother giving them views but they're still being watched by millions of people that just slop things up.
Honestly feel like this b**** all the time now

You're on the wrong site for this topic unfortunately. This place is as sexist as it gets
Backwards County
Realize you can only affect those you interact with and ignore the programmed media unless you want to be a martyr for causes that get forgotten with time
shut up soyboy twink
hey siri play i cant wife no thot by future

teach your girl how to shoot a pistol and how to disassemble an ak rifle, this is by far the best way to address this area of issues
i dont get it wym
female have it the best than they've ever had it
go to the middle east youll see real oppression
man's asking how to address rising misogyny and immediately says alphas should protect women in his pack

I wouldn't say any generation was actually taught that, which is the problem
Our generation learned it because we went from no (modern) internet to it dictating our lives in real time
At least that's my guess. Don't really have an answer to op tho
