I think Material fulfillment is secondary to mental/self fulfillment

I could never be happy with my material world without being happy in my mind and in my immaterial interactions

The latter comes before the former

Letting go of the competition, grind, and toxicity that capitalism puts in front of me every day and decoupling from the rat race has done wonders

I think this A/B dichotomy you have going on is moreso people who are plugged into our socioeconomic system and those who have put themselves before it
