SBMikeDon’t agree with this either. Nobody on GOOD besides Kanye really releasing anything spectacular. Push releases all are the same, just good albums. Big Sean has one solid project. Kanye was carrying.

scihoiThis is a good response, but I don't think this addresses the fact that the labels are oftentimes a barrier to "carrying out being that status" and "sticking to their sound".
GOOD (of which I'm more familiar) has made it difficult for artists (Kacy Hill, Desiigner, Cyhi etc) to release projects and keep their fanbases interested. It's not that the label failed to promote them - it's that it seemingly stymied even their ability to maintain.
Kacy Hill, Desiigner, and Cyhi have all been able to release a substantial amount of music either through studio albums or singles/EPs but they’ve constantly proven they can’t be anything more than music to satisfy a niche
They just don’t have it musically to be bigger than they are
