I’d say both HOB and PND 1 projects are extremely influential but for different reasons. I’d say they’re the one two punch for their lane of music, as to what channel ORANGE and Kaleidoscope Dream are to theirs

I think they all played a huge role in shaping the sound of R&B for the 2010s. HoB and PND1 especially but you can hear the influences from each tape.

I can see what you mean with PND1 though if I’m being honest, the sounds he used on that record are much more evident in the 2010s R&B landscape much more than HoB’s sounds are. You can hear the trap influenced R&B sounds more than you hear the indie-inspired drums and sounds on HoB, at least in the mainstream.
