I didnt know about weeknd n Frank before their intial tape releases, but I found NU & HOB just by doing the surfing i normally do.

Also helps that a lot of my own friends irl in HS were big into rap n rnb so we were always jeeping each other up on mainstream & underground ish of the time & arguing about whats better during lunch n s*** lol.

these tapes are classic, but kiss land was this sound brought up to album level, and even furthered a little bit. it lacks some of the charm of the mixtapes but i think its better for sure. i get why some people put it below HoB though
