For those on PS5; be sure to buy the PS4 version of the game instead of the PS5 version. It’s a free upgrade to the current-gen version and you’ll save $10 in the process.
may trade in some games towards it too, thank you
yeah honestly way bigger difference than on YouTube the amount of detail is insane on stuff
So besides a few rare others, this looking like one if the first true next gen games? Sounds like it. And this is a cross gen title making it even more impressive.

yeah I've tried a couple different next gen games and this one is some thing else in terms of graphics
the detail on every object just pushes it to another level especially in 30fps mode
it looks like movie quality almost if there weren't small things throwing it off but it's maybe the best looking game I've seen
they recorded the cut scenes on video for the ps4 cause it was impossible for the ps4 to render them with all the details, models, textures
Do yall like this or Ghost of Tsushima art style and graphics better?
Horizon

They’re honesty super similar tbh. This game looks better graphically though for sure.
No spoilers, First impressions, just got past the first lil tutorial area miniboss,
Game is beautiful, the haptic feedback is finally getting some serious use here too, I REALLY wanted to like the implementation of motion control aiming but I can’t get it to be sensitive enough, hard to describe but it feels extremely limited, I know its supposed to be for minor adjustments in aiming but with how much these enemies move it just isn’t enough for me. May try turning it back on when I get more skills in regards to concentration time. I also caved and switched to performance mode because 30 fps feels terrible. Also the game needs a patch or two, very buggy so far, Aloy is glitching through surfaces, her weapons disappear in the middle of cutscenes, climbing feels terrible so far and the tower section had me falling and reclimbing several times for no godamn reason. Combat so far doesn’t feel as smooth as I remember either but that will probably change with more playtime and skills. I haven’t gotten sucked in yet but I’m sure I will. But it’s going to be one of those games for a lot of people who might close it out and never look back when elden ring drops and I’ll update later if those kinds of people need to give this a second chance.
I'm hearing performance mode is kinda rough looking, thats unfortunate
It’s really not. Of course it looks better in fidelity but performance still looks pretty good. Playing it on my 4K TV rn and it looks beautiful in performance.

thats good to hear. I went to check a Horizon thread on reddit and people were constantly complaining about how the game looks in performance mode.
So I was definitely worried

If anything I’d say the only gripe I have with the graphics is this weird effect where some stuff looks “too sharp”. Kinda makes some visuals look a bit jagged. Other than that though, game looks phenomenal.

Is it worth waiting a week or so after they patch it before copping?
Put a good like 4, 5 hours I to this. Felt good to dive back into this world. Can tell I havent even scratched the surface of the story that's bout to unfold. Its daylight and s*** now, ugh I need to take my ass to sleep lol
About 2 hours in graphics insane dont play this in performance mode on ps5 60fps aint that damn important the 30 feels great

From what I’ve seen this game also looks way better both presentation and animation wise.
GoT had some really janky animations at points (especially during side quests) and the cutscene direction was also really boring.

I mean, playing it, beating it then immediately moving on from it was synonymous with my experience with the first game tbh

idk if relevant but they say they just launched a hotfix for some visual bugs

combat is AMAZING but the rest is like Ubisoft
visuals arent bad at all, characters are sometimes cartoony and environment has lots of tan/brown in the beginning parts
underwater looks way worse but idgaf bout that since most games dont do underwater
