First one is a good game, but it should've been getting 7-8s instead of the 8.5-9s reviewers gave it. They overrated the game, that's why people are cautious this time

I'm on the Wikipedia page of HZD rn and one of these reviewers called it a "neat perfect story with a satisfying conclusion" IGN mentioned the "charm of the protagonist's personality"

Game critics caused this by being too lenient on games in their review scores since towards the end of the 360/PS3 era. Most AAA games were just given 8s, even mediocre games were given 7s. Like your game really has to be trash to get even a 6. That's why people's expectations are all f***ed up

Best way to enjoy gaming journalism is to find a outlet or reviewer that enjoys games similar to the games you enjoy. For me thats Fextralife for example.

The whole audience surrounding metacritic scores has become so toxic man it feels like theyre forcing journalists now to give a certain score. Especially common in Sony and Nintendo fanbases

Combat still seems like it feels a bit floaty, but I'm impressed by the amount of options they've added The variation in environments looks great too

i tried HZD last year or so on PS4 and it wasnt anything jawdropping but damn this one looks AND feels great on the PS5 wow, imma need my bro to cop so i can try it lmao
