it’s absurd levels of hypocrisy. how do you expect anyone to think you’re a good person when you’re this insulting whenever someone isn’t in lockstep with your pov?

Attacking redditors is a necessary public service so no bars held there

    Chosen

Yes, they made choices that would inevitably lead to being homeless. For example, using meth or heroin

And before you accuse me of stereotyping, recall there are hundreds of thousands of homeless in America and this is not all of them, but some 5 digit number

it’s like some of you jerks are kidding yourselves into thinking your little arguments here affect anything. i’m a brand new user and got several people insulting me while at the same time posing as moral authorities. this is mainly an anonymous site so miss me with the fairy tales. you don’t do s*** to improve the world, so get off your high horse.

I’m not accusing you of stereotyping

But I think you should try to show some more empathy and understanding

So many people hooked on hard d**** started from a place of innocence, like prescription pain meds.

Saying “He chose to use heroin so it’s his choice he is homeless” is just heartless. I don’t think any person that isn’t mentally ill in one way or another goes “You know what, today I’m going to f*** up my life by doing heroin”

There are deep rooted issues there, and even then they need help, not to be chastised/tossed away

What if that was a family member?

clearly he’s trying to son that guy and make himself look better. yet he’s a jerk. so you’re a jerk to people you talk to but in your head you’re like oh man those poor homeless people, and that makes you a good person somehow? that makes a difference somehow? tell me, how does simply thinking about something the way you think about it helping in any tangible way shape or form?

I have a friend, in real life, that I grew up with, that got pulled into a bad lifestyle, was in and out of prison, and everybody basically threw him to the side and gave up on him.

When he was out, ther was times we talked, played basketball together, etc. Those times, I could tell he felt good and just needed somebody to be with, even his family pretty much disowned him

He went back to jail a couple more times, then got clean about a year or 2 after. Now he has a job and is living a self sustaining lifestyle back on track.

Am I taking ownership for that? Absolutely not, it’s all him. Do i feel i need recognition for it? Not at all. But i do think is more people were empathetic to him and showed him love along the way he’d have got there sooner.

Bro seriously you sound unhinged lol I have no idea how you read that comment in that way

He never accused him of being a bad person or anything just preached having empathy for others

    L&A be like:

I disagree with you so you should get permad

disagreement over justifying the death of a man who obviously needed help

all those arguments only work if dude knocked him out. if he suckered punched him cold that’s one thing. to choke him to death without a manslaughter charge is criminal
