I don’t care about hollow knight but I’m curious; could anybody tell me what could possibly be making this game take so long to release? I mean we’re not talking about a massive scale game like GTA 6 here. What is the hold up?

Spitballing here but since the original was made by like 3-4 people, and probably made them millions, I'm guessing they're rich and lazy and only work sporadically. I'm dead serious too i feel like this is the actual answer and I truthfully don't blame them.

On top of having like 3 people working on the game my theory is that they just kept scrapping ideas and struggled with where to take the game. I imagine that the amount of praise that Hollow Knight got probably put a lot of pressure on them which is also a factor.

Regardless, I think the development pipeline for this was probably messy as hell

first one took a long time too if i’m remembering it correctly, all the assets are hand drawn/hand animated plus i imagine they’re increasing the scope of the game, i would assume the team is a few times bigger than the first game tho so idk
