I liked it a lot when it dropped. Still like it, but lately when I listen, the flow sounds kinda lazy. I guess it’s also effortless but it feels like the performance is kind of… idk… lazy. Fire bars though

I would like to talk to him about his music, but our convos are always pretty hi and bye, dapping up and moving around. You remember he gets $2m a show so each minute of his time is worth $33,333. And I never wanna over talk or monopolize someone’s time. But honestly next time I see him maybe I’ll talk music

A valid response I respect it I just love every aspect about the song tbh. That would be dope though I would hope you get the chance to do that. I’d love to chop it up about music with him. Just as a huge fan and somebody who doesn’t know a bunch about it all.

Spent some time reading through the thread and damn congrats on everything real talk. It’s still gotta be somewhat insane to think about to this day. Keep on killing it out there bro we over here rooting for you for sure.

Woah maybe I wasn’t clear

I watched a lot of TV growing up. Colbert / Stewart / Conan / Comedy Central standup / Comedy Central roasts all through middle school

I also joined the Harvard Lampoon and wrote a pilot and had a packet of my Lampoon material

Back then, I also watched more shows. Girls, Entourage, Californication. And I wasn’t too far removed from being a big Office and Parks & Rec person

My agent sent them my material, and someone there liked it. We met and then they liked me

As far as why, they thought I could write for the kid characters sort of. Like bring a youth perspective

All time, Arrested Development. Current? I’m so out of the loop on what shows are on. Lol probably back on the simpsons since it’s never going off the air. But hmm… shows are either family comedies (I have no kids, never been married) or workplace. It’s rare to find a show that’s just about dudes or gals in their late 20’s or their 30’s. I guess that’s Insecure? idk. You’ve stumped me.

Something silly and funny. There was something liberating about writing for The Simpsons where it’s just about being funny and zany versus the pressure of talking about race and societal lessons in a show like blackish

Succession is like the anti-Billions. I heard great things about Billions, but put off watching it because I felt it would be too close to home for obvious reasons. I eventually watched and liked it

I felt the same way about Succession since I'm very familiar with that world (super super rich white people / corporate stuff). I started it and I can't get into it. I expected I'd like it a lot. Maybe I'll give it another try
