Seems like the counter-protest is actually bigger than the main protest that quickly rose to #2 trending topic behind the Euros
TeleSur posted a few videos about it and thread suddenly disappeared, I doubt they deleted it themselves. Sus s*** going on
Not only MASS protests (not this one - there are only a few videos with at most a few hundred people, nothing that didnt happen during the George Floyd protests), but also military going against the government and/or leadership openly talking about ending socialism
Mass protests alone have never changed an entire governmental system, I can't think of any single prominent example for this. You need some of the people with power to go along with you OR need a violent revolution to do so (with the support of significant parts of the military)
I don't see this happening in Cuba, nor would it happen in Hong Kong. They're still trying though. Last year they tried this too, maybe it was the test run (fake student protests) for this year.
Of course, they can try a coup like in Grenada if they feel desperate and invade. But I'm not sure if they want to invade because Cuba has prepared for decades for a guerilla war. They tried sending special ops to Venezuela a while ago and they all got captured
I meant it more like, what protest against socialist policies would appear legitimate to you. like what would your barometer for going "hm seems like the people here do not enjoy this attempt at socialism" be
because in this instance I agree with a lot of what people are saying, and generally think cuba has accomplished a lot with socialism. but im wondering about how we stay critical/self-reflexive about these things in general

For one, not wave US flags during the protest
Lol keep that same energy next time there's a protest in a capitalist country
and no I'm not a communist
Capitalism is flawed but it at least has a chance of working
Unlike cuckunism

Compare the quality of life from a capitalist country to a communist country my guy

Capitalism is not flawed. It's working exactly as intended. But keep telling yourself that
How many people live in a communist or socialist country?
Depends what you mean by that and who you’re asking
If the US really cared about shortages in Cuba, they could simply lift their blockade and end them overnight. But they dont; they want them to suffer so bad to overthrow their government easily.
The blockade has existed for almost 7 decades by now.
niggas defending communism never spent time in a communistic country and thats fax

Tired right wing talking point.
You and the average westerner can’t even form actual points against any of the things you critique

US made sure we never had the chance
A few hundred people is not a tipping point dawg
But ur the dude who believes every single fart in Iran will cause the Shah to return
Why would anyone want Shah to return? Iran replaced a king with another king 42 years ago. The supreme leader is a king! Don't need another king!
