im a dark skin black man who's been in China before, walked amongst and lived with Chinese people, and has experience related to my skin tone there

these mishaps are not great but it isn't coming from a place of hatred its an ignorance due tot he fact much of the population have not had many experiences with black people (partially because China didn't engage in active slave trading nor colonized kingdoms). They've only been open to the world for 40 years and much more so last 20. Its really an odd but genuine ignorance for most.

I've been the first black person some have seen IRL before and first hand seen folks eyes light up like i was a celebrity. Its a true unfortunate issue to get posters like these but its not exactly what you wanna angle it as

china didn’t engage in the transatlantic slave trade (nor in most international slave trades) which is what he’s talking about. In fact the slave industry in China was very undeveloped in comparison to what it was in the Western Workd at the height of slavery
