that's how music was sold for decades though. you used to have to buy a physical copy of s*** if you wanted it. it's not like he put up a bunch of t-shirts and had that be equivalent to a single sale (which is usually what people refer to as bundling).

Yeah, I shouldn't have used the word "bundles." I'm just saying the artists who use bundles these days and who make these vinyls/CDs available during the tracking week for their singles/albums are only doing it to better their chances at scoring a top debut. There's nothing wrong with that, seeing as pure sales are dead in the water right now. I just think it demonstrates what the artist thinks about the song's chances to be an organic hit. It used to be that artists didn't really care about debuts because they had faith in the song having longevity. Not anymore, it seems. Everyone just wants to get the #1 debut and dip.
