    in af.

love that drake giving headie this look. often his uk picks aren't my favourites..

but headie has been so versatile and creative the last couple years. he deserves this

Not to mention Gang is one of the best projects of the year

yeah i was really surprised at the direction he took. fred again, fka twigs and everyone else on there killed it too

i love it tho just shows the potential he has. he can really take drill wherever he wants too. he's got the talent, the credibility, ambition and it would seem the connections.

Check out Music X Road for his biggest songs and more drill based music.

Check out GANG for his more experimental EP featuring people like Jamie XX (of the XX), FKA Twigs and all produced by Fred Again (pop producer for Charli XCX, Little Mix, Ed Sheeran etc. but actually really fire).

That's like a good introduction to why he's popular rn and what he might be able to do next

For skepta Konnichiwa album and Vicious EP really the most solid. packed with big tracks

I prefer his brother's stuff tbh Integrity and Grime MC. But in some ways this more pure so might be a bit less accessible than Skepta, but give it a try. Maybe start with JME's track 'Integrity' or Man Don't Care as a taste.

I think the best grime album of the last 10 years in Godfather by Wiley tho.

the best uk rap/hip-hop/grime album OAT is Boy In Da Corner tho by Dizzee Rascal, which came out in 2003.
Other great UK artists to check for are Ms Dynamite (i actually think she'd be very accessible to a non-UK ear tbh-she's all about the hits tho not really the albums. Been in the clubs for 10+ years consistently )

Also Kano. As well as rapping, he's the main actor in Top Boy, the Netflix/Channel4 show Drake's involved in. His albums Made in the Manor (2016) and Hoodies All Summer (2019) are flawless to me. He's got classic tracks from the early 2000s too like Ps & Qs.

Yeah Kano is dope! I think the first thing that got me into UK rap was shutdown by skepta. I’m all in with Jhus stormzy and Dave. But haven’t branched out more than that. I’ll peep that Wiley for sure too.

Shutdown was an anthem that year. Even people who hate that song lowkey still love it for what it did for the scene as a whole. Shutdown is on Konnichiwa along with tracks like That's Not Me and It Ain't Safe (probably my two favourite Skepta songs).

Godfather is an insane album to me.. if you check the first couple tracks you'll pretty much know if you gonna like it or not tho.. Skepta's featured a bit deeper into the album too. Skepta and Wiley have produced for each other a fair bit.

The best song on Godfather is probably Holy Grime with Devlin. Wiley's verses are crazy, it's just pure bars over a really epic beat.

I love pretty much everything J Hus has done. I love Dave's first big EP Six Paths too. Been a bit hit or miss for me with Dave and Stormzy since then just cos of my personal taste but I love how they've brought new people into uk rap.

If you know the Stormzy songs One Take Freestyle, Know Me From and Wiley Flow they're all remixes of either wiley's classic 2000s flows, beats wiley produced or beats from old wiley albums. He has a really big influence on most uk artists like that. along with people like dizzee he pretty much helped put on most big uk rappers and build the whole industry.

@op do you know anything about organization? That track is so explosive he can't keep it forever in the vault.

It got scrapped cuz Booggz dissed Drake and OVO in 2016. It leaked but it got scrubbed from the internet
