yeah but how many people were saying for the past two years leading up to this album that his commercial dominance was done
ppl were calling this his make it or break it release 😭
Well those people are dumb
I liked Donda more than CLB too dawg
Both albums disappointed me, they ain’t bad but definitely could have been better. I don’t want any more 15+ songs albums in my life unless they don’t have trap songs.
I will never complain about more content after long waits . Donda was closer to masterpiece than CLB for me but both could cook longer . Glad they out . Honestly both could have benefited from more women hooks and not subscribing to radio length songs

His "commercial run" will be over when Drake says it's over.
As for his creative prime....

Remember when LIG hit diamond and suddenly stopped being streamed
Carter III came out less than a year later and did a milli
Wasn't same year though
he got to that position by himself tho, we have to respect that.
For sure I mean he dropped great albums in the past quality wise he just ain’t been hitting the mark since 2016 solid hit maker tho for sure he’s like nelly now

thankfully that’s subjective
Remember when LIG hit diamond and suddenly stopped being streamed
Drake made a song called “Life is Good” and a month later the entire world went into lockdown
Wasn't same year though
Doesn't have to be, if Wayne dropped in 07 he would've sold a million still.
Can we deduct some Drake sales cuz he cheating with Spotify?
Does kanye seem burnt out or BURNING HOT
so the drake Spotify thing is actually way less impactful than you’d imagine
basically Spotify is removing restrictions on people listening for free
But billboad changed the rules about how free vs paid streams count
So one album sale atm is equal to 1250 paid streams or 3750 free streams
So sure drake is gonna get some more free streams from that campaign but even if he got 25m extra streams (no way it’s this high) that’s only like 7k more sales cause they’re weighted so low
nah drake would wash
they’d both cannibalize each other’s numbers but Kanye had a way more successful rollout and drake is still well ahead
based on first impressions it seems like most people find CLB boring and Donda more exciting
if these dropped simultaneously it would force people into an either/or especially with the flame of their beef being re-fanned
it would be pretty close even though drake is bigger
