probably would have been better as a movie because the first four episodes were pretty inconsequential. hard to have meaningful character development when all of them are so stereotypical and when the writing did try to explicitly address the big themes like race and class it was both uninteresting and humorless
the show was good, but to interest me in a second season they'd have to get a new team of writers and a cast with bigger names (I liked some of the actors but none of their performances were really fun to watch) like how Big Little Lies did
still one of the most overrated shows in recent memory tho

nah I worded that wrong. meant if this show had an all star cast like Big Little Lies, along with better writing, the first season would have been a lot better

He was a typical d*ck but she sucked. She had reservations about being intimate with her husband on their honeymoon, makes the trip all about her career, and then dumps man's before the trip ends lol. And barely helped him thru what happened at the finale. She was just as much garbage as she perceived the family to be.
She didn't even call her mom back. Sis was jealous her man had a better working relationship with his mom than she did.
