the dragon fight was hype but my fave scene was the opening with daemon being haunted by young rhaenyra
i love how this show isn't afraid of fully committing to being a fantasy show, weird trippy weirwood visions included
They’re saying this episode is a classic? 👀
Ok yeah this s*** was confirmed classic
Why doesn’t team black just use this 🤭🤭🤭

Man if I was a dragon rider, I’d dodge these with ease
i don't think the episode needed to have aemond pull a sly little manoeuvre on aegon in that battle but still a 9.5/10 episode regardless
If aegon not dead, i hope he paralyzed or sum
That nigga literally almost f***ed up the whole plan
He about to be anakin end of ep 3 or something
drunk driving a dragon to medieval warfare after fighting with your mom is a legendary crashout

men of the black council listening to the w**** of dragonstone tell them she snuck behind enemy lines without so much as a word

In the top 5 of GOT universe episodes
Man yall really forgetting how many 10/10 episodes thrones cranked out lol
imagine being the average common peasant soldier having to dodge dragons in a batte

An episode like this would have been a GOT season 4 throwaway
That season 3-6 run was insane

*season 1-4
The latter seasons still had incredible highs including the 2 best episodes but weren't as consistent
Because of the theatrics around it I don't think enough has been said about how STUPID it is that Aemond tried to knock off Aegon...the one character in their camp that CANNOT die

He knew exactly what he was doing. Aemond knows that if Aegon dies then he becomes king, and everyone and their mother in King’s Landing knows he would be a far better king than Aegon.
That’s why Aemond’s decision wasn’t purely based on just greed, he also knew that Aegon’s reign coming to an end would’ve been best for the realm.

Follow me for a second: Aemond look like a man who gives a s*** about the realm to you? Ctfu lets be serious, he just hates his brother

I agree with this. The fantasy flourishes in this show are really well executed and make this show feel closer to the books than Thrones ever did, D&D were always too afraid to fully lean into the fantasy aspects of the source material but Ryan Condal is fully committing.
Just goes to show who respects and understands George’s work more. It’s not surprising he’s already praised this show more in 1.5 seasons than he did with Thrones in its entire 8 season run.

The fantasy elements of thrones were there until the end lol the thing with hotd is you can't have a compelling show without the fantasy elements so it's easier to lean into

His hatred and rage is what drives him to make these reckless decisions. Hates his brother but also knows that with Aegon out of the way the war becomes far less complicated on the Green side of things.
