they were decent set the stage episodes, but agreed.
Need a rather big death tbh, either Crispon or Aegon works.
Don't even care about deaths but it's been way too slow for only 8 episodes. Not to mention they've completely pushed characters aside or ruined them
Rhaenys in the book is way better. Jace may as well be off the show lol. Rhaenyra has had no character development

I dont remember much about book Rhaenys other that her being a bit more warhungry I guess? And then she dies in the first battle of the Dance anyway so... doesn't bother me.
Lol if this next episode doesn't deliver they need to cancel the show
Looking back at these last 3 episodes they're already on the brink of f***ing it up
It was a slowburn setup but bro cmon with this dramatic doomer s***
the show is fantastic

Ok this a overreaction

You can't do a slow burn when you have 8 eps lol. And doesn't excuse the fact that a lot of the characters have largely done nothing this season
Not with the way people are hyping the episode
It’s already confirmed episode 4 is going to have a lot of action

I'm not just talking about action tho cuz action can be trash too. I'm talking about progression of the story
Also they need to not push the rhaenyra alicent angle anymore

Criston is on his way to Harrenhal, Daemon just took over Harrenhal, Battle of the Burning Mill just went down, Rhaenyra and Alicent just established that war is inevitable
Idk to me it seems like Condal has set up everything that needed to be set up in these first 3 episodes , and we should be getting a pretty wild second half of the season .
The pace has been slow so far for sure, but the story has still been very engaging and the show definitely shouldn’t be cancelled. I believe Condal has just been taking his time laying out all of the chess pieces before he starts actually moving them around.
I think this next episode is about to really kick things off everything in a big way .
I think we needed a lot of this build up. We got time to get to know these characters and its world and the larger implications of future events to come.
I was hella excited to see this part of the show after s1 lol seeing everyone’s reactions to luke’s death and the tug of war between war and diplomacy and how it births an all out war is all rly important context
Slow? Yeah a little, but characters are still moving their plot lines and developing/progressing. Otto lost his position as hand to criston, retreated to Oldtown. Rhaenyra and allicent are pushing toward all out war after the attempt at reconciliation failed. Aegon is being put into larys’s pocket. Daemon has harrenhaal and is at odds with rhaenyra after being put on blast. Aemond showed regret for killing Luke (rly liked this part).
I guess characters like rhaenys and corlys get left on the wayside but they dont rly matter at this point lol we’ll get more of them when their time comes ideally.
have people forgotten how “slow” Game of Thrones was in its prime? that’s part of what made it so good.
a lot of enjoyable slow-burn mixed with blink-and-you-miss-it details that eventually offer a great payoff.
really glad they brought up and cleared up the Song of Fire and Ice /Aegon misunderstanding instead of doing that trope where things can be avoided had characters taken the time to explain things
only for Alicent to say “oh… well, idc, too late 🤷♀️”

The “plot not progressing” complaints that’s been thrown around for stuff like this and Bear is getting tiresome. Limited series and shows that are actually just a long movie seems to have made people forget that tv is long form entertainment. If you want closure and instant gratification watch a movie
And that’s coming from someone who prefers movies

It's the ADHD generation. If the plot is longer than a Tik Tok video it's to long.

definitely agree
like SweJab said, ADHD
but also I feel like Netflix ruined things with dropping entire seasons at once. people got used to that instant gratification you mentioned.
showing jahaerys beheaded in the intro credits was diabolical, I love the tapestry format they've used for this season
I cannot tell you how much I despise Cristin Cole
