Already seeing people say that hated that the scene wasn’t more brutal
But idk man, I really don’t think explicitly showing that is necessary. It’s still a very very dark and haunting moment without showing it
Yeah idk why a lot of people want to see gruesome content with TV & film. Folks did the same s*** with Oppenheimer & the atomic bomb scene.
Like you know what happened.. what will getting an actual visual do for you?
Never put your trust in mfs named Blood and Cheese
Ahhhh so that’s who they were. Blood & Cheese. Always heard that name but never knew the significance of their impact to the war. I see now
So the version in the book was more intense than that ? Damn i can see why they didn’t go there with a kid involved but now i just wanna read the scene
alicent was there too and they tied both them up and made them watch while it happened. the little girl saw it all too, she wasn't sleep or angled away. a lot more crying and screaming too, but show jaehaera is autistic or something.
as another poster said there was also a younger son and they made her choose which one to kill and then they killed the one she didn't point to so that son would know his mom chose them to die.
Oh that's wild. Wish it went down like that
I don’t need to see the child get killed but I wanted the same thing as the book where they make her choose and then kill the other one and tell the one that lives his mother wanted him dead
Would’ve made the scene much more brutal without even having to add any gore or anything

Yeah that part , if this was included the scene would have been gut wrenching asf . I wonder why they changed it
Yeah I dont know what people are on about. No way would GoT show a child get graphically beheaded.
Sickos itt
Sickos itt
d&d would absolutely show the sword about to hit, and then cut away
but truthfully that's not what folks are disappointed at. there was some real emotional weight they left out
they don't, but they use that threat to force helaena to make an impossible choice
in the show she was weirdly quick to point to jaehaerys without much prompting and then just leaving him there. she doesn't even plead for them to kill her instead.
Yeah I could see why folks would be upset with that tbh

Yeah i don't want to see the killing itself, but the way you guys said the book went down sounds more interesting. Still cool with what we got
Out of all of the s***ty character in a game of thrones how does Cole almost take the cake for most unlikable
They're not about to air an infant getting cut up y'all
It wasn't about the kid's death being shown. It's that they took all the tension out the scene by cutting s*** out. I don't think anyone expected a kid's death to be shown
It's almost offensive that HBO allowed the show runners to limp their way across those last couple seasons when that Miguel fella and this Ryan Condal guy were waiting in the wings

Yeah now that I’m seeing folks give info about the books, they could’ve at least made her choose which boy and kill the opposite.
Would've added some character depth to the son who got chosen to die in a way.

that nigga get my respect cause he a real sexxer fr

The scene doesn't do enough of a tonal shift from the lighthearted wacky antics of these two f***ing numbskulls bumbling about in what's supposed to be the pinnacle of strength
In reading the excerpt from Helena's decision in the book, that s*** would've been like a record scratch. THAT would've made for a way sharper and cutting climax and would've even made the sudden end with Alicent's reaction hit even more
