One thing you’ll realize is that there’a a section of the HOTD fanbase that is constantly miserable af, and it’s mostly book readers, they nitpick everything about this show, and nothing is good enough for them. Don’t let their nitpicks take away your enjoyment of this show
The new episode currently has 9.4 stars on IMDb with 8k reviews
The show is far from doomed
To be fair, I meant doomed specifically in the niche arena of online discussion, and doomed in the sense that I don’t think the show can do anything at this point to change that. Obviously it’s still a very popular show and last episode was rated highly on IMDb as well, but online it feels poisonous and not unlike how it felt trying to discuss Star Wars 6-7 years ago.

Like I mentioned, a lot of the fanbase just kinda sucks lol.
Even season 1 was getting hate from book readers
I don’t even engage in the Twitter discussions about this show, I just sit back and enjoy what it has to offer every Sunday
Oh s*** we back???
I feel like this episode is how seasons 7 and 8 of GOT should’ve felt like.
So much tension and bloodshed, and every choice and action felt like there were real stakes to it.
And THAT moment at the end truly felt earned when it finally happens
Book readers that keep hate watching this show can F off and let people actually enjoy this show

It was always wild to me when people would say they wish Milly Alcock played older Rhanerya
Milly is a great actress, but I just don’t think she’d be able to give the same intensity and maturity that Emma D’Arcy brings to the role.
Emma is PHENOMENAL, and she smoked every single scene this episode
I couldn’t even imagine Milly doing what she did
Thought we were finna have another Ned stark situation when the gold cloaks showed up but them boys came in clutch

It’s mostly that young rhaenyra was just a far more interesting character

The show is far from doomed
Everyone was miserable watching season 2
Imagine the witch wasn’t there, what a humiliating end to Aemond that would have been
This was great.
Great episode

big doggo
Extremely awful that that was supposed to be the season 2 finale
Lmao if these 2 episodes were at the end of season 2 the fall off narrative woulda never even happened

Sucks what out of touch rich people will do to maintain subscriptions
We’ll see you again next Sunday at 9pm EST
I mean sure, if this was "THE episode" I can't wait to see what other nonsense they cooked up

It's not. The s*** hasn't hit the fan yet. Her taking KL was pretty quiet in the books too. They basically just walk in.

I'm aware but this episode in particular was hyped up a lot by people who'd seen it beforehand
