Idk about the books, but we've clearly heard in the last couple of weeks from the showrunners and GRRM that there's gonna be creative liberties taken with the source material

I personally believe they'd like the ASOIAF (which is the obvious connecting theme between the two series) to help better explain what happened in the end of GoT

watching the post episode interviews now and it is a shame that this actualization of Aemond's feelings just was not achieved on camera at all.

Like we the viewer can understand he's a convoluted guy that never got past his childhood and everything's an extension of that, but his greater desires or regrets, those are so rarely expressed by him or any other character

If that's the case then they make it even more confusing with the vision. Not only does the Bloodraven look different but Dany is also implied to be TPTWP and we all saw GOT's ending. That wasn't what happened... lol

I think they may be able to explain it better within the next two seasons than Thrones did it with Aegon lol
