Do you guys recommend game of thrones? I’ve been trying to watch it but I always have a hard time watching new shows but man I love lord of the rings so is it kind of the same thing?
Yes, I’m one of the ones who enjoyed every season. The final season wasn’t as BAD as everyone made it out to be, form your own opinion. But absolutely watch it, it’s a fantastic show.

The images I’ve seen of the show look really beautiful and also the ones for house of dragons. I’ll check it out today.

At its peak GoT was easily the most immersed and hyped I've ever been watching a show. I was even counting the days until the next episode came out. Simply phenomenal.
Unfortunately, the last few seasons pretty much undo everything that made the show so amazing.
If you're really curious, watch it. But temper your expectations towards the end.

Now that you're going to watch the whole show in a row, maybe the conclusion won't impact you as negatively as it did to those who had to wait years between seasons.

Lmao yeah right

If anything it might hit him worse cuz on a marathon watch you notice the change in quality ez cuz you fresh off the good s***, that's how I took it when I finally watched anyway lol

That’s true. Good point
I alluded to this yesterday without outright saying it but like.. I can’t be the only person who feels like this show shares a lot of similarities with GOT Season 7 right?
Everything from the pace to the dubious character/location jumping, even the visual style in some cases.
its not really location jumping if you know how small the setting is.
it would take otto and his crew like a day to sail to dragonstone from king's landing because it's like right there
it would take even less time for daemon to get to driftmark from dragonstone

I actually did some googling and, ironically, found people discussing the topic around the time Season 7 was airing.
They went quite in-depth and deduced that Kings Landing to Dragonstone was around 350-450 miles and in perfect conditions, would take 3 days to sail.

All I know for sure is I'll never rewatch the damn show lmao

still not comparable to season 7-8 level teleportation like how the dothraki teleported to intercept the lannister army when dany needed them to in between scenes.

Lord of the Rings is high fantasy, meaning it has more magic and elves and s***. Game of Thrones, while heavily inspired by LotR, is more grounded with mostly only humans and minimal magic.
That being said yes absolutely watch Game of Thrones. Some of the greatest world building and character development ever
Mysaria's accent isn't hitting for me
It looked like it was overdubbed
The GOT episodes that Alan Taylor directed:
1x09 Baelor
1x10 Fire and Blood
2x01 The North Remembers
2x02 The Night Lands
2x08 The Prince of Winterfell
2x10 Valar Morghulis
7x06 Beyond the Wall
His track record is great
He directed Beyond the wall tho?
He directed Beyond the wall tho?
What's wrong with the directing of the episode?
He didn't write it, blame D&D
who would win?
10 Game of Thrones dragons or Godzilla?
Godzilla clears. A javelin spear can kill a dragon
