And it’s not like they gave Laenor a choice in the matter, if he didn’t agree to go they would’ve had him killed anyway

I dont like Alicent but I can sympathize with her a bit. She was thrown into all this s*** by her father and always felt obligated to follow the rules, while she had to watch Rhaenyra not give a f*** and do whatever she wants.

quentyn martell (tried to mount one of dany’s dragons in the books) also demonstrated that stealing a dragon is simply not possible, cause they will barbeque you in a second if they deem you unworthy.
vhagar was roaming the wild before laena claimed her, which means she prolly had to seek her out and take a stance while knowing the potential consequences, just like aemond did.
vhagar would’ve likely rejected laena’s daughter who thought she was ENTITLED to have her anyways.
