Sep 26, 2022hoopsplayer21they need a litttttttle more display of how the Westerosi people would HATE a lady ruler. because the issue boiling over in everyone's mind is that the realm "won't respect" a lady ruler (leading to a fight for power).
obvi there are also each players own desires pushing them, IE alicent wanting her kids on the throne, varys just wanting more power and knowing it can come from Allicent, Daemon's constant back and forth on wanting to be a political piece or not.
most if not all are still rooted in this idea of Rhae being either too weak or simply too short-tempered for the throne (if she happened to be a man, there would be no power struggle here, people would likely accept the new heir and that would be that), so yea, imma need some more of those scenes like when Daemeon and Rhae went to fleabottom and the people were clowning the idea of her has queen.
I think it’s pretty simple for them tho. She would be the first ever female ruler and break long standing traditions.
Heir always goes to the first born male. It’s easy for them to laugh off a female ruler. They see an heir now finally exists with a powerful name like Aegon and are wondering why he wouldn’t be king. If Rhaenyra becomes Queen Aegon would have automatic support in challenging the Crown because he’s seen as heir. She’d be forced to silence that potential challenge.
Viserys only crowned Rhaenyra heir because he had no male and didn’t want it to go to Daemon (brother is first in line if there’s no son). The prior King also crowned Viserys over his older cousin Rhaenys at the start of the show for the same reason. Alicent and others actually have a valid point even if theyre led by selfish reasons
