Show was in shambles the moment they ran out of GRRMs material
Got zero hopes for this
They should’ve taken a year off and properly wrote an ending. S8 was a complete slap in the face.
Hoping we see more of OldTown and the Reach as well. Described beautifully in the books and art but terribly translated in the show.
Yeppppp
This needs to be heat cause there are still a lot of jaded GoT stans who need love
I have high hopes for this. HBO is well aware of the quality this needs to be, and they will for sure do their best to capture the original GOT feeling that fans loved

Same here. Thank God they scrapped the White Walker one lmao that would’ve been a terrible follow up.

Yea would've been a WOAT decision to add more lore and backstory to the Wights at this point with all things considered
There is still PLENTY of stories to tell on screen post-The Long Night
They have started filming

even though they s***ted the bed in the last seasons of GoT, I still miss that show when it was in its prime, the peak seasons was some of my favorite television experience. Really hope this is good.

Same for me, I really miss the era of GOT when literally nothing could happen in an episode except Little Finger and Varys in some hallway exchanging witty lines and it'd still be considered a great episode. Hopefully this show brings that feeling back

Post here because I don't want to bump the books thread and... what the f*** I just watched?
Mf is some drunk sailor in the series while in the books it looks like he is one of the most deplorable antagonists ever and the real threat.
Hope we got more info on the faceless men too.
I need it
Thought Naomi Watts was gonna be in this, what happened there?
That was another spin off, they did the pilot but didn't get picked up

Oh wow, that's kinda wild.
Cool, looks like what you’d expect lol
This show is make-or-break for the GOT universe. If its good they’ll have everyone back on the bandwagon again, if its bad the property will probably be dead for a while.
Watching Shadow and Bone on Netflix made me realise just how special GOT was. Granted, it's not fair to compare a YA show with an adult show, but they're both fantasy, and prime GOT is still above a lot of fantasy out rn. Like it's not even close
So tired of seeing the "remake season 8" comments on social media
GOT is over and it has been for years, let's move on to other stories and just accept that things didn't end the way we wanted. But it is what it is.
HBO is not going to try and wait for every single cast member from GOT to be available, and then pay them millions of dollars to remake one season of a show that is over

people dont realize its not the “ending” that’s bad, its the execution.
Bran still could have been king, Dany could’ve been slain by Jon, Jaimie and Cersei could’ve died together if the execution was done properly and given 10 full episodes

Yea the story wouldve massively benefited from being stretched over 2 seasons imo. But yea overall I didn't have a problem with how the characters ended their story, it really was the execution that ruined it
But people have to keep in mind that the blame lays solely on D&D , and the fact that they aren't involved in this new show should be reassurance that this won't end up with the same situation.
Not to mention the Dance of Dragons source material already has a resolution so there is no fear of a major drop in quality this time around
