This episodes discussion about d*** addiction is amazing. I lost my big brother to this kinda stuff last year and a lot of its commentary on it is great.
I had a feeling the writing/writers on the show came from somewhere besides the glorification aspect that a lot of people say the show boarders on, but this episode shows it in a pretty realistic and cool way, even if it is just 1 conversation.
Also anyone else think Ali’s voice sounds like willem defoe
It seems like season 2 would’ve fully functioned without this episode + the jules special but they filmed them as a bridge since covid stopped season 2
But I’m glad we got them, really adds a lot
Mannn we got a long ass wait for part 2 smh
Agreed, shoulda dropped them both in December

sending you lots of love my guy
Just binged all of this. Wow. What a fantastic show. It kind of reminded me of a Larry Clark movie. The way d*** abuse, domestic violence, and toxic relationships are portrayed is very gritty and graphic. I love how Rue isn’t the typical modern day quirky female lead. While she is theatrical, she’s also a very realistic character. B****y, toxic, and very stubborn like a lot of teens are. Nate is one of the biggest pieces of s*** characters in TV. The actor did an amazing job. My favorite character is Jules and Maddie. I kind of felt bad for Cal. It really sucks season 2 got delayed. The special episode was great. They really did a good job at making a one hour conversation not boring. Obviously that’s about all they could do because of COVID. Season 2 should be interesting. I wonder if they will fit the pandemic into the storyline.
welp that episode was depressive af and I barely ever turned to be an d*** addict but it speaks volumes if you're addicted to anything else
This scene came on my YouTube recommended and I’m seeing it in a whole new light, the way the sun is shining then it immediately starts raining after Jules leaves.. shows how much Rue depends on Jules to bring light into her life

Where can I peep the special.
HBO Max out now
So I decided to give this a second chance and it's waaay more enjoyable watching with someone.
Me and my girl just finished season 1. These directors are SICK

Yeah that was great. There's some scenes that took me there.
I don't recall which episode but when Jules and Rue are high and its a glittery montage
The dreamy ice skating abortion thing.
And Donnie Hathaway playing of Rue's montage
