You gotta watch this show like you’d watch Twin Peaks.

    Not the strongest episode.
Felt transitional. A few standout developments, but also some padding.

I like Nate because he’s like a Nicolas Winding Refn character.

I don’t really know what point they’re trying to make with Kat.
Like, I guess they’re trying to show how she wanted nothing but attention, but now that same attention means nothing to her, so she’s lashing out at this realization and acting like a total b****. Which, is kind of a bold take, that I want to appreciate, because it’s lowkey realistic toxic femininity. But it’s gotten such little development, that it has not been communicated like it should have.

Ali is really well written, loved him being empathetic to Gia.

I think Cassie’s thing is like, she’s completely self-destructive, and that’s why she likes Nate, cause he can destroy her. I view this plot line from a Twin Peaks lens and it makes more sense.

Lexi and Fez. 😍 I want the world for Lexi cause she reminds me of myself. But what are the odds this relationship ends like the Drive Elevator Scene, where she sees Fez stomping a skull to bits? Looks like she doesn’t know what she’s getting into there. 🤷‍♂️

Crazy I was getting only god forgives vibes from Nates scenes all episode

I’ve thought so ever since season 1, when he bashed that dudes face in.

    He’s cool as a cucumber.
    Moves with intentionality.
Has a f***ed up relationship with his family.
    Dead inside.
    Softens for a specific person.
And he’s a symbol for a type of quiet male angst.
    Right up NWR’s alley.

Nates mom said something in Nate changed when he was 8 but Rue said Nate didn’t find his dad’s tapes till he was 11 - so is this an example of Rue being an unreliable narrator and getting the age wrong or did something else happen to Nate when he was 8?

I’m also curious to know what happened when he was 8, feel like there’s something there that we’ll know about at some point

This season needs more Jules so far tho

It’s the little moments that ring true

Like when Lexi is like “Should we watch Stand By Me right now?”
We all know that moment when two people discover they like something similar, and you’re like oh my god, I’m actually about to share this with this person I like. It’s like Lexi almost doesn’t believe any of this is really happening to her. I can practically hear her heart fluttering.

Nah, people need to remember that Cal isn’t actually a pedophile. Yeah he slept with Jules, but, as we heard again in this episode, she told him he was 22, and everyone else we’ve seen him have sexual encounters with has seemed to be an adult as well.

What he did is still obviously against the law (also that he films people without their consent), but to call his character a pedophile is unfair and inaccurate because he was under the mindset that Jules was well above the age of consent, so I think it would be extremely out of character if we find out he molested Nate
