From seeing season 1 multiple times, I don’t think Sam is glamorizing s***work but more so how women fall into being overtly sexual to fill some emotional gap

Cassie doesn’t feel good enough about herself because she sees that her man’s ex appears to be living a great life and she wants the same kind of attention. Even with McKay talking about how much college is stressing him out and her first instinct is to f*** him. He wasn’t even f***ing with it because he’s trying to have a moment of vulnerability with her. PLUS him not claiming her in front of Nate led her to o***** on a Ferris wheel in front of everyone lol. Let’s not forget her Dad abandoned her. She’s doing the only thing that keeps men in her life around and it fills that void her dad left

Kat self-esteem was f***ed because she was made fun of for being a virgin and because she’s “fat”, and we all know bigger girls can’t be sexy (sarcasm). Caught some d***, had a tape spread and enjoyed the comments boosting her self esteem and fed into it. Anytime Ethan made her feel bad about herself (not on purpose) she f***s some random to “get back” at him or dove into the online s***community. She feels “empowered” during those moments with randoms but Ethan brings her back to earth and she doesn’t like it.

And let’s not forget the Maddy uses s***to feel in power as well. All that because she doesn’t want to end up like her parents. Stuck in an unhappy relationship where they don’t even acknowledge each other. The extremes each party went through to at least been seen by the other just so Maddy doesn’t have to end up like her mom.

Jules uses it to “own” her femininity. Which makes sense because she’s trans. She’s trying to find her identity in the world and her only way for her to touch that is through s***because that’s the only time she feels accepted. Rue called her out on it last season but Jules just loves the high of people being into her before even realizing the potential dangers of it (Nate and his dad). Hell she slept with a random visiting in college and ran to Rue thinking she’d be okay with that lol. As far as her and Rue goes, it’s fun for her because she feels the love she always wanted but it’s a one-way relationship. Soon as Rue doesn’t give her what she needs emotionally, what does she do? F*** that one boy all of season 2

I know he’s not in everyone’s good graces but I think he does great commentary how s***affects teens at a young age no matter how “glamorized” it seems on tv. Diving into promiscuity at a young age can have its faults and he’s showing that . Same with the d*** use

not only Elordi but also Sweeney's (for her that would be understandable considering how her character's treated lol) hearts are not in it at all, their scenes felt forced and lacked the emotional gravitas of the two previous seasons. of course they aint teenagers anymore but idk something felt off

also not showing Hunter at all for this first ep was a weird move, considering she was one of the main characters of the previous seasons...
