It’s a new app? It’s not just gonna update from HBO Max? Well that’s a mistake….
Edit: I’m in and it’s cool it automatically signed me in on my phone and carried over all of my recent watches. On first look it’s just like HBO Max
they said either it would automatically update or that when you go onto HBO Max it would prompt you to download the Max app. so I feel like it’s just a new app.
I downloaded Max last night and it auto logged me in from my HBO Max account. and then I got onto the HBO Max app this morning and it signed me out of there so I just deleted that app
edit: all on iPhone. on a trip rn so can’t say the same for my AppleTVs

This all seems like it amounted to Discovery properties merging into the HBO Max interface.. + a more generic name. They just as easily could have added new hubs to HBO Max, announced they slightly tweaked the interface and called it a day. Used it as a cover for altering the subscription tiers as well
As long as the HBOM back catalog stays I’m good. Annoyed most by the 4K switch

Seeing some people have glitches but I’ve been good on my phone and desktop. Pretty much picks up where any HBOM subscriber left off yesterday

Didn’t really follow the run up to this. I remember wayy back initially there was talk of Discovery+ and HBOM merging more equally or on a new platform, but this type of merger was all I wanted if it were to happen. Coulda used a better name that linked to WBD at least is all
