The only thing I listened to by him is his latest album and it’s phenomenal tbh,

how can you critique him for not doing anything different and talk about “music for a sushi restaurant” in the same post ??

I went into that album thinking that he was just the average pop artist making bubble gum pop music but I came out thinking this guy is legit and worthy of all the praise he’s getting tbh.

His music has a lot of depth to it, even his breakout pop song is about him struggling with d**** and being at odds with his family, but he makes it catchy and sound like an energetic pop song.

you can say you don’t like him but saying his music is bad is an awful and incorrect take tbh

As an aside, yes I thought Renaissance was a better album. But not by much so I can’t hate the album of the year nod.

I wanted to hate but I’ve never heard a song by him…..got to track 2 on the Harry house album and As im trying to figure out who his voice reminds me of, im realizing I like the song…..

Also all of y’all saying we’re hating delusionally… no. The opening track of the album sounds like if Peter Gabriel was a Bret Easton Ellis f***boi character from less than zero attempting write sledgehammer, but being a f***boi there is no lyricism and the awful horn lines actually take away from the song instead of elevating it. Rest of the album is warmed over Paul McCartney/Elton John s*** with some modern production. Also the big hit single is literally just ripping off Take On Me. Bye, this s*** is ass Renaissance was a goat’d tribute to Chicago gay house.
