Didn't make his sexuality his whole personality but still addressed the topic and it was jarring based on his past but does kinda make sense if you think about it in a he was overcompensating kind of way. I wonder how many artists are LGBT but don’t like to put it in their music or address it often unless it comes up. Not in a “they’re ashamed” way, just in a “let’s focus on other stuff” kinda way.
I’m bisexual, but unless I was inspired to write a love song about a man, I wouldn’t want to talk about it too much in my music because I feel like I have other stuff to talk about. I also “dress straight” and “act straight” so I wonder if I was famous if I would even be featured in these discussions. Not that I have to be, I just wonder if I would.
I think Kevin Abstract is another artist who incorporates his LGBT identity into his art without it feeling weird or forced
